Eve Troeh

The Katrina Media Fellowship enabled Eve Troeh to be the only public radio reporter on the ground full-time in New Orleans after Katrina. She's reported on a wide variety of topics, centered loosely around three main themes: public safety, housing, and cultural rebuilding. Her stories aim to highlight individual and community efforts to rebuild, and how those efforts are hindered or helped by government at the local, state, and federal levels.

Some of her most memorable interviews have been the shoeshine-stand owner at the New Orleans Hilton, an Iranian-American Mardi Gras bead importer turned local grocery store owner, members of the Nine Times Social Aid and Pleasure Club parading through their devastated Ninth Ward, and musician/National Park Ranger Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes.
